ToggleMangools vs Semrush: Which SEO Tool Is Right for You?
Prices and plan details checked: 26 October 2026.
I did not run a hands-on test of either tool; this comparison is built from official vendor pages, help-center documentation and independent sources.
Disclosure: SEORAF can earn a commission from some vendor links, at no extra cost to you, and links to a vendor’s site are labelled as such. Commission does not change what I recommend. Read the full disclosure and method.
Mangools vs Semrush: the short answer
Choose Mangools if your work is mostly keyword research, SERP analysis and rank tracking, and you want a simpler, lower-priced toolset. Choose Semrush if you also need site audits, backlink auditing, AI-search tracking, deeper reporting or a platform several people and clients will use. If you only run occasional checks on one small site, you may not need either yet.
That is a conditional verdict, not a ranking. The tools overlap on keyword research and rank tracking, but they are packaged differently. Mangools is five focused tools in one subscription. Semrush is a much larger platform where your plan decides which tools you reach and how heavily you can use them.
- Mangools fits best when you are a blogger, a freelancer, a small-site owner or a niche-site builder who mainly asks, “Which keywords can I realistically rank for?”
- Semrush fits best when you run technical checks, monitor several sites, report to clients, or want one platform covering SEO plus wider marketing tasks.
- Neither may be needed if Google Search Console, a free tier and an occasional manual search already answer your questions.

How the two products are packaged. Examples only; limits vary by plan.
What you are actually buying
The biggest difference is not any single feature. It is the buying model.
With Mangools, you pay for a subscription that includes all five tools. Your plan sets daily lookups, tracked keywords and similar limits. You do not pick modules, so the question is mainly “which tier gives me enough room?”
With Semrush, the platform is broad and the plan matters more. The current SEO and AI-search plan family covers paid tiers from SEO through Advanced, alongside custom Enterprise arrangements. Extra-user and report add-on pricing may vary by product family and account, so check the current order page before including add-ons in a budget. A reader comparing the two should compare the job each plan covers, not the headline prices alone.
This is also why “which is better” is the wrong question. A hammer and a toolbox are not rivals; it depends on whether the job is one nail or a whole renovation.
Mangools vs Semrush pricing and billing
Both vendors’ pricing pages were checked on 26 October 2026. Plans, regional pricing, taxes and promotions can change, so confirm the current checkout price before purchase.
Semrush plans and prices
| Plan | Monthly | Annual (per month) | What changes at this tier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 1 demo project, 10 reports per day, no card. |
| SEO | $139 | $117.33 | 5 websites, 500 keywords tracked daily, Position Tracking, Site Audit, AI search tracking and sentiment. |
| Starter | $199 | $165.17 | Same 5 sites and 500 keywords, plus MCP access, 50 AI prompts per day and 1 AI-brand domain. |
| Pro+ | $299 | $248.17 | 15 websites, 1,500 keywords, historical data, content optimization, cannibalization analysis, multi-location tracking, 100 prompts per day. |
| Advanced | Not shown (request a demo) | Not shown | 40+ websites, 5,000+ keywords, share of voice, API, unlimited AI prompts (as listed on the official page). Third-party sites report $549 monthly or $455.67 annual; I could not confirm that on the official page. |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Quoted individually. |
Source: Semrush SEO and AI search pricing page, checked 26 October 2026. Annual prices are monthly equivalents billed annually.
Semrush says annual billing saves “up to 17%.” My own arithmetic matches that for Starter and Pro+ (about 17%) but gives roughly 15.6% for the SEO plan ($139 × 12 = $1,668 versus $117.33 × 12 = $1,407.96).
The seven-day free trial listed for SEO, Starter and Pro+ converts to a paid plan unless you cancel. Semrush’s stated refund policy requires a written request within 7 calendar days of the original online order and applies to eligible card purchases made on Semrush.com. Read the current refund policy before paying, because eligibility terms can apply.

Mangools plans and prices
Mangools’ official plans page lists Basic, Premium and Agency. The figures below are the displayed USD prices checked on 26 October 2026; regional currency, tax and promotion differences may affect checkout. Confirm the final amount on the vendor page.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual per month | Reported limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | Time-unlimited, no card; heavily capped lookups. |
| Basic | $61 | $37.70 | 100 keyword lookups per 24 hours; 200 tracked keywords. |
| Premium | $81 | $52.70 | 500 keyword lookups per 24 hours; 700 tracked keywords. |
| Agency | $141 | $97.70 | 1,200 keyword lookups per 24 hours; 1,500 tracked keywords. |
Source: Mangools official plans and pricing, checked 26 October 2026. Annual prices are monthly equivalents billed annually; verify the displayed bundle and limits before checkout.
At the displayed annual-equivalent prices, Mangools Premium ($52.70 per month) costs less than half of Semrush SEO ($117.33 per month). That is a headline-price comparison, not a like-for-like value verdict: Semrush includes a broader platform and the plans have different limits.
Two details matter for buyers. First, in Mangools a “lookup” counts a search or an import, and clicking a keyword suggestion to see its difficulty counts as a SERP lookup, so heavy exploration uses the daily allowance faster than it first seems. Second, API access is sold on separate Mangools plans.
Free plans, trials and refunds compared
| Point | Mangools | Semrush |
|---|---|---|
| Free access | Free plan, no time limit, no card. | Free account, 1 demo project, 10 reports per day, no card. |
| Trial | A free plan is listed; confirm any trial offer on the current official plans page. | 7-day free trial on SEO, Starter and Pro+; auto-converts unless cancelled. |
| Refund window | Refund request within 48 hours, subject to the published exclusions. | 7 calendar days from original order; written request; Semrush.com card purchases only. |
| Renewal | Auto-renews; cancel any time. | Renews on the billing cycle you chose; cancel before the date. |
Costs that do not show on the headline price
- Extra users (Semrush): from $45 per month each, so a three-person team costs more than the plan price implies.
- Report add-ons (Semrush): $10 and $20 per month for Base and Pro reports; white-label and link sharing sit in the Pro report add-on.
- Sub-users (Mangools): available from Premium; two simultaneous device logins on Premium and Agency.
- API (both): Mangools sells API access as separate plans. Semrush lists API access at the Advanced tier.
- Currency and taxes: both vendors may show different currency, tax or regional prices at checkout.

Keyword research: where each tool is stronger
KWFinder is the reason many people try Mangools. It is built around a simple flow: enter a seed term, review ideas, check difficulty, then look at the SERP behind it. Semrush’s Keyword Magic Tool is built for scale: very large keyword lists, filters and grouping.
What this means in practice
- Small sites and niche research: KWFinder’s simpler workflow is easier to learn, and its difficulty-first approach suits people hunting for winnable terms.
- Large or competitive projects: Semrush’s Keyword Magic Tool supports large keyword lists, filters and grouping, but the available usage limits depend on the specific current plan and product family. Do not apply classic Pro/Guru/Business limits to the newer SEO/Starter/Pro+ plans unless Semrush explicitly confirms the mapping.
- Country coverage: Mangools “search by domain” works in 17 countries, so check your market before relying on that feature.
Why the numbers may not match
Keyword volume is an estimate, and different tools estimate it differently. One independent single-keyword test using free tiers, published in September 2026, showed 3,800 searches in Mangools, 320 in Semrush and 80 in SE Ranking for the same term. That is one keyword, one market and free-tier access, so it proves nothing about overall accuracy. It does show why you should never treat one tool’s volume as fact. Mangools also notes that its volume data lags by about a month.
A practical rule: use volume to rank ideas against each other, then check the SERP yourself before committing to a topic.
Rank tracking: daily versus weekly

Update frequency over one week, not accuracy.
Mangools’ SERPWatcher updates weekly, and daily on the Agency plan. Semrush lists daily updates for Position Tracking on the current SEO and AI-search plan page. Historical-data availability and retention can vary by plan; check the current feature details before relying on a specific retention period.
Does the difference matter? For a new blog or a stable small site, weekly checks are usually enough to see direction. For volatile SERPs, active campaigns or client reporting, daily data helps you spot and explain movement sooner.
- Mangools: mobile and desktop count as separate tracked keywords, so tracking both doubles the usage. A featured snippet counts as position 1.
- Semrush: extra locations or devices count toward your keyword limit. Multi-location tracking is listed on the newer Pro+ tier. Avoid using classic Guru/Business entitlements as a proxy for the current plan family.
- Locations: Mangools supports about 65,000 locations in both SERPWatcher and SERPChecker.
If you are weighing rank trackers more broadly, my comparisons hub is the place to start.
Competitor research and backlinks
SERPChecker shows what pages in the results look like, with 45+ metrics and SERP feature detection. It is strong for answering “why does that page rank?” one keyword at a time. LinkMiner adds backlink research using Majestic’s fresh and historic indexes (Mangools states 9.5 trillion links). SiteProfiler gives domain-level authority metrics from Moz and Majestic, but it is not a crawler.
Semrush covers the same questions at larger scale and adds a Backlink Audit that scores toxicity, connects to Google Search Console and Google Analytics, and exports disavow files. That audit workflow is the clearest backlink-side difference.
A caution applies to both: backlink indexes are never complete, and no tool sees the whole web. Use them to compare competitors against each other, not to produce absolute counts.
Site auditing and technical SEO
This is the plainest gap. Mangools has no site crawler or audit tool among its five tools, even though some of its marketing language uses “audit” loosely. If you need to find broken links, redirect chains, duplicate content or crawl problems, Mangools alone will not do it.
Semrush includes Site Audit. Crawl limits depend on the plan and product family. The older Pro/Guru/Business limits should not be assumed to apply to the current SEO/Starter/Pro+ plans. If you manage a large site, confirm the monthly crawl allowance and per-audit cap on the exact plan before buying.
Not sure how much auditing you need? Read my guide on the Semrush Site Audit. If you only occasionally audit a small site, a free crawler may be enough, and Mangools can still handle the keyword side.
AI-search visibility
Both vendors now sell ways to track how a brand appears in AI answers. Mangools’ AI Search Watcher tracks brand mentions across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Gemini and others. Semrush’s listed plans include AI search tracking and sentiment, with daily prompt allowances that grow by tier: 50 on Starter, 100 on Pro+, and unlimited on Advanced as listed.
Mangools’ official plans page lists AI Search Watcher PRO with Basic, Premium and Agency and shows 500 monitored prompts. The AI Search Watcher also has a separate product/pricing page, so check the exact subscription and bundle terms displayed for your account before purchase. Do not add the standalone starting price to a main plan unless checkout shows it is an extra charge.
This category is new and still maturing. Prompts, models and answers change quickly, so judge any AI-visibility feature as a trend monitor rather than a precise score.
Ease of use and learning curve
Mangools is the easier of the two to pick up. Five tools with a consistent interface means fewer menus to learn, and a beginner can get a useful keyword list in the first session.
Semrush has more to learn. That breadth is helpful once you know what you need, but it can overwhelm a beginner who only wants keyword ideas. A sensible approach is to use the free account first and learn one workflow at a time.
Reporting, integrations and teamwork
- Mangools: alerts, scheduled email reports, shareable and white-label reports with a custom subdomain, and a Looker Studio connector. Which plan unlocks white-label is not verified.
- Semrush: white-label and link sharing sit in the Pro report add-on ($20 per month). Some integrations and reporting features have differed between Semrush’s legacy Pro/Guru/Business plans and its newer SEO/Starter/Pro+ plans. Verify availability on the current plan rather than relying on older plan comparisons.
- Teams: Mangools sub-users start at Premium; Semrush extra users start at $45 per month each.
For agencies with several clients, reporting add-ons and user seats can change the cost comparison more than the base price does.
Where data and claims need caution
- Volume and difficulty are estimates. Compare keywords within one tool before comparing across tools.
- Mangools numbers are independently reported. Prices and per-plan limits need a live check.
- Vendor claims are marketing. Vendor-reported adoption figures describe reach, not whether the tool is suitable for your workflow.
Can you use both?
Yes, and some people do. A common pairing is Mangools for fast keyword discovery and SERP checks, and Semrush for audits and backlink work. It is rarely cost-efficient early on, though. Start with one, find the gaps your workflow actually hits, then add the second only if the gap is expensive.
Which should you choose? A decision guide

A starting point for choosing. Check current plan limits before paying.
If you are a beginner or run one small site
Start with the Mangools free plan or the Semrush free account. If you pay for anything, a lower tier that covers keyword research and rank tracking is usually enough. Learning the workflow matters more than owning the biggest toolset.
If budget is the main constraint
Mangools is the lower-priced option on reported prices. But if you then have to buy a separate crawler, the saving can narrow, so price your full workflow, not just one tool.
If you do technical SEO or manage a large site
Semrush is the more natural fit because Site Audit sits inside the platform. Check the crawl limits of the plan you choose.
If you work with clients
Compare reporting, white-label options, user seats and tracked-keyword limits. Semrush offers reporting and user-seat options, but the available options and add-on prices depend on the current plan family. Mangools lists scheduled and white-label reports too (which plan unlocks them is not verified), so a small agency with simple needs should compare both before assuming it needs the larger platform.
If you want one broad marketing platform
Semrush covers more ground. If you only need SEO research, you may be paying for features you never open.
| Your situation | Lean toward | Why |
|---|---|---|
| One blog, mainly keyword research | Mangools | Simpler tools and lower reported entry price. |
| Niche-site builder checking many SERPs | Mangools | SERPChecker and KWFinder match the workflow. |
| Freelancer who also audits sites | Semrush | Site Audit is built in. |
| Agency with several clients | Semrush (check Mangools Agency) | Reporting, seats and tracking scale. |
| Needs daily rank updates | Semrush (or Mangools Agency) | Daily Position Tracking; SERPWatcher is daily only on Agency. |
| A few checks a month | Neither yet | Free tiers or Google Search Console may be enough. |
Common objections before buying
“Mangools has no site audit, so is it incomplete?”
Only if you need audits from the same vendor. Many people pair a keyword tool with a separate crawler. Incomplete depends on your workflow.
“Semrush is too expensive for what I need.”
That may be true. If you mainly need keyword research and rank tracking, a cheaper tool can do the job. Spending more on features you will not use is not a benefit.
“What if I choose wrong?”
Use the free options first. Paid refund windows are short (48 hours for Mangools, 7 days for Semrush), so do your testing early in the period rather than at the end.
“Will the data be accurate enough?”
No keyword tool is exact. Use data for relative comparisons and verify important decisions against Search Console and the live SERP.
Try before you pay
The cheapest way to decide is to run the same real task in each tool: one seed keyword, one competitor page, one tracked set. Then compare how much effort it took and what you could not do.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Semrush SEO plan the same as the old Pro plan?
Do not assume they are equivalent. The current SEO plan and the classic Pro/Guru/Business toolkit plans are different plan families with different published names and limits. Compare the current plan pages directly; similar prices do not prove identical features or allowances.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
I did not find a verified, vendor-stated answer for either tool. Export anything you need, such as keyword lists and reports, before you cancel.
Did Adobe’s acquisition change Semrush?
Adobe completed the acquisition on 28 April 2026. I did not find a verified pricing or policy change tied to it at the time of checking.
Why might prices show differently for me?
Vendors can display regional currencies, taxes or promotions. One independent tester saw Mangools prices in euros. Always trust the checkout page over any third-party article, including this one.
Method, sources and disclosure
Method. I built this comparison from official vendor pricing and help pages, vendor documentation and independent sources, then compared the facts side by side. I did not run a hands-on test of either tool, and I make no claims about client results or performance outcomes. Where a figure comes from an independent source, the text says so. Semrush and Mangools plan prices and the Mangools AI Search Watcher bundle details were checked on the vendors’ official pricing pages on 26 October 2026. Feature-specific claims should be rechecked against the linked vendor documentation before publication.
Affiliate disclosure (version 1, current). See also the site’s affiliate disclosure page. SEORAF participates in some affiliate programs, which can pay a commission when a reader buys through a link, at no extra cost to the reader. The vendor links in this article currently go to the vendors’ own pages and are not tracked affiliate links. If that changes, each affiliate link will be labelled next to the button and marked as sponsored. The recommendations above rest on the plan facts and use cases in this article, not on commission, and both tools’ limitations are stated in the article.
Independence. SEORAF is an independent SEO knowledge resource, not an agency. Corrections are welcome and will be made when a vendor changes a plan.
